Texas is for Lovers

Our Texan beauty married her director beau and a wonderful time was had by all. LOVED this wedding! Sentimental and vintage touches were everywhere. The bride wore her grandmother's earbobs, carried her purse from the early 20th century, and placed her cameo on her bouquet. The ceremony was in a bright and sunny garden, while the reception was in a rustic and charming barn. Our favorite comfort foods (pigs in a blanket, mac 'n cheese, ) were served to guests as they entered the barn and Patsy Cline tunes set the mood. Chicken wire hosted escort cards mixed with cute engagement photos and straw bales were lovingly covered with quilts that belonged to the bride's grandmother (our heart aches at how adorable it was). LA hipster guests played horse shoe and drank cherry lemonade while awaiting the arrival of the bride & groom. A tempting BBQ buffet kept the guests full and happy, but a few boisterous polkas and enthused line dances really started the party. We set out galvanized pails and filled them with the couple's favorite candies complete with ribbon adorned brown bags for guests to store their candy stash as the evening came to an end. The majority of guests were still present to bid the happy couple a proper aideu and cheer them on as they rode off in an old fashioned trolley. Photography by Greg Neil.

Teresa & Daniel - [DPP Video]

Our good friends over at Digital Princess Productions traveled with MJSE to Las Vegas over the summer to cover the Teresa Strasser wedding. We had an amazing time, and I learned that, aside from being wonderful people, both Mercedes and Andrea are huge talents! Going above and beyond the call of duty, they shot from traveling cabs, busy intersections, and mile-high rooftops, just for the extra material and fresh perspectives needed to put together their envisioned final cut. Brilliant! Digital Princess Productions fuses quality footage, amazing composition, and editing skills only a strong background in the entertainment industry could provide.

Perfectly Perfect

There were absolutely way too many wonderful photos of this wedding that we just had to pick a few little hints for you to view. Why the hints, you ask? Well, if you must know, Mint Julep Social Events, the Ebell Theater, and this beautiful couple will all be featured on Whose Wedding is it Anyway? this winter on the Style Network! There were so many fun and exciting elements to this wedding that you simply have to see the show in order to get a true idea of what went on. This wedding was saturated in a true vintage essence, not recreating one particular era,but embodying the nostalgia and warmth of the past. Naturally, the Ebell acted as the perfect venue with the fall colors of the decor taking their que from the interior of the historic building. We were honored that this beautiful couple chose MJSE as their wedding planner. We'll show you more details soon! Stellar photography provided by Mike + Anna Costa.

Haunte Couture

Best. Time. Ever! Mint Julep Social Events coordinated a sassy fashion show competition for the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) and it was amazing. The concept is genius: 12 interior design and architectural firms were split into teams and given the task of creating fierce and showy fashion pieces out of upholstery fabric and furniture materials. Not only that, but they had to correlate the pieces to this year's theme: Route 66. Each team was assigned a town on the famous route and had to incorporate that into the design. The results were anything but boring! Of course, the theme came to fruition because of our lovely venue, The Petersen Automotive Museum. The competitive nature of the teams and the showstopping fashion made this event one not to be missed. Thanks to Sean Azul who did a super job at capturing the photos for the event and Shammy Dee kept the beats for the model swagger.
